DeepDeleter is a security tool for Windows 8 which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times.
When you delete a file, you’re not really eliminating these data. The space it occupies on the hard disk becomes available, but data are still there. To really delete them, you need something more. A file that is not securely deleted, can be retrieved with a disk maintenance utility or file recovery utility.
This software uses complex algorithms to erase data with a high security level. However, it is not guaranteed that deleted files can not be recovered by any present or future recovery software. Unfortunately, there isn’t any data deletion software absolutely secure. You should check that there is no copy of the sensitive data in other locations.
What cannot be done with DeepDeleter?
- Delete more than 10 files simultaneously.
- Delete files larger than 250 MB.
- Delete protected files or read-only files.
